Postpartum Support (In-Person)

Service Description

After the birth of your baby, I will remain with you at home/in hospital to assist with breastfeeding and to offer support/information. We may talk about your birth, life with a newborn, discuss community resources or anything else that may be of concern to your family. This visit generally lasts 1-2 hours. Additional Postpartum visits can be scheduled either afterwards or in advance before birth to ensure availability. Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours. Services include: ● Breastfeeding support ● Support with the emotional and physical recovery after birth ● Light housekeeping (this may include laundry, dishes, tidying) ● Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding and comforting ● Light meal preparation (Postpartum Meal service available) ● Baby soothing techniques ● Referrals to local resources such as but not limited to parenting classes, paediatricians, lactation support and other parenting support groups ● Overnight support
